Great for family fun. Parks and recreation center for a full day of fun. The best time to visit is during the summer days. Winter time is better for hunting but must have permission from the hurting game and wildlife management office.

Want to come back if I can find the Falls! Went to Kinlock Falls and it was beautiful but not marketed either! Thanks to GPS we found it.

No cell signals so be careful to mark your trails to avoid getting lost!

Beautiful, historic Bankhead Forest is filled with amazing trails, gorgeous waterfalls, wildlife and old structures such as Pine Torch Church, a small one room log structure that's on Alabama's Hallelujah Trail and one of the oldest churches in the state.

Beautiful mountains and wonderful colors. It's kept clean and can ride for miles without ever seeing a car. A calmness seems to come over you. Great place for family and wholesome fun. Springs of fresh water and tiny churches dot the area.

The swimming holes are clear and cool, the walks can be short or long. ( A five mile walk will take you to the state's largest Tulip Tree, and when it's in bloom it's like standing under a pink sky.) Indian caves are fun to explore, but just remember, it's a federal offense to take an arrowhead or anything you find from the forest.)

Bankhead forest is one of the best outdoor adventures you've ever had. The land of a 1000 waterfalls. Buitiful timber, great hiking trails, camping hunting and fishing, the whole family can enjoy. Some come on by, I hope to see you on the trails.!! It's my home away from home!!.

Great hiking area but never found Turkey Foot Falls due to no maps or signage.
